Welcome to the San Diego Orthopaedic Society

Dear San Diego Orthopedic Colleagues,

We are excited to announce that the 40th Annual Malcolm B. Coutts Visiting Professorship will return on the afternoon of January 26th,  2024 at Hilton San Diego/Del Mar.

This year’s visiting professor is Dr. Marc Philippon from the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO. Dr. Philippon is a world-renowned hip preservation and arthroscopic hip surgeon.  His career as a clinician-scientist and robust research efforts centering on preventing fibrosis after musculoskeletal injury and surgery are relevant across many orthopedic subspecialties. Dr. Philippon is the US Olympic Ski Team head physician and has cared for hundreds of professional and Olympic athletes.  Dr. Philippon’s talks during the meeting and evening dinner will be a highlight for the meetings attendees.

The SDOS annual meeting is an opportunity to award the Partner of the Year award to recognize an exceptional member of the San Diego orthopedic community for their contributions, collaboration, and leadership.  This year, we would like to invite SDOS members to nominate outstanding orthopedic surgeons for Partner of the Year which will be voted on by the SDOS Board.  Please send a one-page nomination letter for the SDOS Partner of the year to farmer.kiersten@sandiegospinefoundation.org . The due date for SDOS Partner of the Year nominations is December 15th, 2023.
