
The San Diego Orthopaedic Society promotes high quality, ethical musculoskeletal care through promotion of education and collegiality among the orthopaedic surgeons and allied providers in San Diego County.
Goals:
1. Provide educational and professional development programs to meet the diverse needs of orthopaedists in the San Diego County.
Strategic Directions to Achieve Goal:
- Create and provide scientific programs based on the needs of attendees.
- Support and assist with development of journal club or case review meetings of subspecialty groups.
- Provide a forum for orthopaedic residents and fellows to make scientific presentations.
- Create and provide practice management education programs.
- Provide a “Visiting Professor” program.
2. Promote collegiality among SDOS members.
Strategic Directions to Achieve Goal:
- Selection of officers representing the various modes of practice across academic, military, private practice, and employed surgeons
- Encourage interaction across the modes of practice and subspecialties.
- Bridge the generation gap between older and younger SDOS members.
- Improve the quality and frequency of communications between SDOS leaders and members.
